Hebrews 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; We Israelites are made partakers of Christ coming into this truth. Which is a glorious thing because we could still be in the Christian church worshipping Cesare Borgia! So Paul expounds and say "if" why is that? That's because some of us will fall back into the world. So we have to hold fast to our calling, what the Lord requires of us and what we have read and applied throughout the scriptures. Stedfast definition: unmovable, sure, constant, unwavering, continuousness, undeviating, strong and firm.
That's how we have to be in this walk. Be unwavering, constantly study, pray and apply, making our testimony sure, undeviating not tossed too and fro with every wind of doctrine. Very imperative to apply these scriptures because the devil is not taking any time off. So whenever a heretical doctrine rare up its ugly head be prepared. For instance; Morning Sabbath? Be Stedfast! Chicken on Passover? Stedfast! Water Baptism? Stedfast! Ok to smoke weed? Stedfast! Flat earth? Stedfast! We need to hold onto this script (as well as others) and endure until the end. Continually striving for righteousness and building up your faith on that Rock which is Christ whether it's when the skies crack or unto death!
